Glass bottomed boat

Swaying bobbing we peer through the hull
Eagle Rays swish beneath us chasing the unknown
Light glints on a startled shoal sashaying across the rocks
Gas bubbles up from volcanic clefts
Crabs glance sideways, looking for the main chance

Day 3 of our virtual Azores holiday!

We will be there all week — a poem a day to fly you away……

Harbour Masters – poem from 2017

Small Cornish harbour end of day
Tacking in from a choppy sea
Call the Master for a berth
Tie up, safe home

Steering through the Channel lanes
Ferries slam past, container vessels loom
Into Cherbourg calling with school French
Master chuckles, welcomes us in

Sliding slantwise into Plymouth
Fighting the wind all the way
Naval Frigate spinturns to miss us
Master reproachful to us each

We are visiting Southhampton (a busy port) today, so I thought I’d share this once more.
