Those so small sisters
travellers with us on this one green globe
praying for the morning light
and the rush to school
move across the land
arc and wave hello
always beautiful, subtly threatening
fade into sunshine
magic happens
find it today
in defiance of the night
sun dogs all

This poem is constructed as per the instructions over at Dverse today where everything is about endings:
– take the very last/final line from each of your most recent poems and re-write them as a poem
– choose at least 12 poems (for this 12th month!)
– keep each line intact, unadulterated
– you may add preposition, conjunction or change of tense if it helps the flow
– you may use enjambment to break a line
– the lines do not have to follow date order
You evidently have some impactful last lines as this ‘realigning’ is a pleasure to read – especially that first stanza

They come from my last four orignal poems on my blog: Cold Cold Night, The Other Nations of the Earth, In Rough Waters and West London 1970s.

oops – it really should be the very last lines of at least 12 poems of your own or published ones

I meant that the lines in the first stanza come from those four poems!!

4 poems? The prompt was at least 12 ending lines so it is a bit hard to critique it – but interesting non-the-less.

Your poem actually made sense to me! It all hangs together, and that’s quite an achievement seems to me. I especially like the way it ends.

This doesn’t seem like a found poem, each stanza flowing seamlessly into the next and a single narrative throughout the verse. Bravo!

This felt like one poem, about the joy of waking up in the morning and going to school. You really put it together well. I especially liked the musing at the end.
