Rabbits

Walking the Ridgeway track
in a dripping autumn
rabbits scatter away
lollop towards the grassy mound
of Waylands Smithy
an ancient tomb
haunted by a Norse godsmith
here in troubled England
but I have no horse to shoe today

Simply rabbits to shoo away

  1. Such a different landscape from mine in which to see rabbits. (There were a lot of rabbits this past summer.) Lollop is such a great word, and fun wordplay at the end.

Thank you for participating in the prompt!
