Wadi Rum 2

Rust red, blood red rock and sand, lit harsh by white hot sun
great mesas rise blank to the sky and here make cold shade
from a great crack that towers up,water arises fresh and clear
floats until
it soaks down into the dust of lives , works and civilisations
slow-crushed and ground by time

  1. I stood in a desert once, ages ago, and even now – decades and decades later – I still shudder at the recollection. Give me my Green Mountains anytime, thank you very much.

But you DO capture it perfectly, Kim. Thanks.
