We are now back from staying with close friends (for the first time in 2 years) and our youngest son is self isolating in his room due to the large News Year party he went to in our absence. Both our sons are scared of giving me Covid, in case I get complications.

How good of your son to self-isolate… I hope he doesn’t get it but if he does I hope he will not spread it further… maybe soon covid will be a common cold.

I can hear him upstairs, howling with laughter as he chats to friends online –so I think all is well so far! ;)

I think we are all hoping that Covid decays into something not to be feared…..

The truest kind of love is when we put others first, and I think that despite the bad that Covid brings, it shows people’s priorities. Beautifully written. Glad your son is doing what he can to avoid the potential spread of the virus. Hope you all stay well!

Love your haibun! Hope your son is all good. At least he can still carry on with his social life online!

You can only do so much online. He has missed a lot of partying at university because of COVID and has got very upset and lonely because of that.

I’ve tried three times to leave a comment on your blog but WP is being a pain! I just wanted to say how I loved the phrase ‘joyous ice jail’
