When grief and loss slowed my dance
you were there
not to dance for me
but to sooth the chill
to kiss my soul better
so that once more
I danced
could find words and warmth
live again

Eloquently written, Kim. Grief needs the partner of silent presence, more than anything.

I remember now… didn’t you also lose a child? I lost my younger son almost 3 years ago so my empathy is deep. Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you need to move on, to put a time limit on your grief. It knows no bounds, this loss of a child. 💗

We lost a baby daughter in 1996. We now have two adult sons. So many people assume that they replaced her.

Kim, thought I had replied to this. My condolences again (it’s never too late). And yes, there’s no “replacing” a lost child.
Sorry I’m behind reading blogs again. Will get caught up eventually.
Take good care.

I’m always behind on reading blogs, so no worries. Although maybe we should all keep in touch more frequently over the next month or so?

Yes, a good idea. I worry about everyone. Hope you and yours are staying well.

We have a holiday to Istanbul booked and paid for, leaving on Wednesday. Not at all sure we want to go now…..

What a shame if you can’t go. I don’t blame you for having trepidations. Hope there’s a safe way you can go through with your plans. There’s so much uncertainty…. Just take care.
