Sweet sisters Pleiades
Peer out from their nursery nebula
New baby stars
Half the age of the chalk hills
I live upon

Love it. This is the best time of year for stargazing with the Sisters overhead and Orion rising. If only Betelgeuse would either brighten back up or explode already.

It has taken several decades for me to persuade my husband that Betelgeuse can be seen as red. She is like an old friend to me, so although I really want to see an stellar explosion in the sky, I would be very sad to her go….
Sods law says she explodes in summer, when I can’t see it.

Beautiful! I love looking up at the stars at night from our deck. I had no idea the Pleiades were young stars! Thank you for teaching me something today.

Astronomers (of which I was once one) actually do use the term “stellar nursery” :)

I remember learning about this as a child. I was fascinated about the constellations and the 7 sisters was my favorite. Neat piece!
