I am both happy and somewhat sad this week. I exhibited several of my paintings at Ytterbium, the 2019 Eastercon — a science fiction convention that was held across the Easter weekend. Amazingly I sold three paintings, which is wonderful, but this means that I will never see my lovely Phoenix again. She’s off to Los Angeles California and this is all I now have of her:

Here I am at the Eastercon Art Show with my paintings:
Ah. The bittersweet life of a painter. At least your poetry can be in many places at once.

Congratulations ! Well done ! I hope you have a large print of the photo of your phoenix to look at when you miss her a lot.

Congratulations, it’s always good to sell, not necessarily for the money but for the fact that someone else likes it enough to part with their cash – words are cheap.
If you liked it that much, paint it again – bigger and better – I frequently do.

It does feel good! My first ever sale, and it was to the person organising the show. I was considering re-painting (I have a bigger canvas) but I thought it was possibly a silly idea. Now I’ll do it — thanks.

That’d be hard to part with one’s art – but I like the idea of painting it again. Congratulations on your sale! 🙂
