Rust red sun
Burns through yellow grey clouds
So dark at Noon
That street lights flicker
The silence of the birds
Is telling

Storm Ophelia (once a category 3 hurricane) has today brought dust from the Azores and from Portugal. In the west of England, people can smell burning too………..rather apocalyptic.

We had just the same sun here in Yorkshire. How well you captured it in your poem. I must try to refer to it on my blog today as I couldn’t yesterday.

Great photo! We saw that red sun last month with the forest fires all around. So eerie!

Nice poem. Can you tell why the sun is red?!
