A beautiful poem. I have read that it was “The Lord Of The rings” that set off the interest and large scale writing of science fiction.

I don’t think so. SF was being written in large quantities before Lord of the Rings. The first SF Worldcon was in 1939 and Lord of the Rings was published in 1954……
